Global Risk Consulting (GRC) Group is an Aotearoa-New Zealand-based consultancy headquartered in Tamaki Makaurau-Auckland. We provide ethical data intelligence solutions and advisory services for tackling complex problems in the areas of risk and crisis management.
Our team specialises in the collection, analysis and innovative presentation of hazard and risk-related data, and in the development of tools that enable optimal responses to and recovery from crises. Our growing team of experts consists of a Head Research Analyst, Consulting Analyst (Geopolitics & Risk), Group Intelligence Manager, Climate Change Director, Chief Technology Officer, and Head Creative Technologist.
Managing Director
Chris provides advice and support to Department Prime Minister and Cabinet (and 16 other Agencies) on national security matters aligned with the Royal Commission of Inquiry to the Christchurch Attack – March 2015. Current focus areas are: National Critical Infrastructure, Economic Security, Cyber, Terrorism and Violent Extremism, Intelligence and Security Act, National Security Strategy, National Security System, Rec-12, Foreign Interference and Firearms and Safety.
He currently Chairs the Crowded Places Security Group and liaises with stakeholders across a range of complex issues that relate to best practice, systems design, and implementation for the Crowded Places Strategy.
Chris spent a number of years in the Military with a primary focus on Counter Terrorism, Human Tracking, Intelligence gathering (deep-reconnaissance) and Mountaineering and was part of the NZSAS, Special Forces Mountain Troop and Counter Terrorist Team (CTT).
He was fortunate to receive and to be issued the Iraq Reconstruction Service Medal for services to the British Foreign Office and the Multi-National Forces Iraq (MNFI).
He has been actively involved with large multi-nationals and Foreign States in countries like Middle East, Africa and Asian. His work has assisted United Nations, ABB, Orascom, Royal Families, Americas Cup, NBC-Universal, APEC, Chinese National Petroleum Company (CNPC), Marathon Oil, Whorley Parsons, a number of Foreign Ambassadors, Country Security Risk Managers, Schlumberger in Pakistan, liaising directly with state agencies and other major oil and gas providers within the MEA region.
Chris studied towards a Masters in Science in Risk Management; Loughborough University, United Kingdom, was a Security Industry Authority (UK) license holder, a member of the New Zealand Special Air Services (SAS) Association, NZSA Association and ASIS member.
